The weekend is here!

My dear readers, happy Friday! What do you have planned for the next couple of days? I'm going to see Alice Smith in concert—and my good friend is getting married, too. It's a busy weekend, but a fun one. :) Wishing you a lovely and relaxing weekend ahead! Here, to get it started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

I'm obsessed with Homeland, are you?

Homage to hashtags.

A restyled cocktail cart.

Are you wrap-ready?

Wish someone xoxo.

Princess lessons!

When can I move in?

Be as chic as Reese.

A mini Thanksgiving (and a belated playlist).

Sweet office set-ups.

Bad hair day

Where's a hair elastic when you need one? :) I love these shots of Kate and William taken this week on the balcony of Cambridge Guildhall in Cambridgeshire, England. Even with the wind blowing her hair in her face, Kate still looks absolutely stunning (what a gorgeous Max Mara coat!). Take a peek at the rest of the photos here.

PS—What do you think of Kate's new bangs? So cute!

Say 'Om'

Do you practice yoga? I have been trying to fit in more classes when I can. For my birthday, I received a wonderful gift: a pass to Malo Yoga in Brooklyn. I took my first 90-minute class there right before Thanksgiving, and loved it. I'm amazed how even in a city like New York, it's possible to shut the windows of a small studio, and with that shut out the noise (and stress!) of a busy day.

What do you do to center yourself when you feel overwhelmed?

More fitness in the city here.

Paris rooftops

A couple of months ago, I discovered this gorgeous photograph of Paris at the Affordable Art Fair in New York. Ever since, I can't get it out of my head! The image was shot by photographer Irene Suchocki as part of her Rooftop Soliloquy series. It's stunning, right? I'm considering buying it as an early Christmas splurge—just looking at it instantly takes me back to my trip and reminds me at a glance of how wonderfully moody and beautiful Paris can be. :)

Do you have a piece of art in your home that you love? What inspired you to buy it?

James Bond + Hot Cocoa

Up until two weeks ago, I'd only seen one James Bond film—a Pierce Brosnan one. In my opinion, it was a good one, but according to Matt, it didn't count. :) He said that I needed to watch Sean Connery and establish my opinion on Bond from there. So, we chose a night, cooked dinner, and rented From Russia With Love. I was hooked! After seeing it, I knew what was coming next: Skyfall starring Daniel Craig. Matt and I made it another date night: First the movie, then hot cocoa from The Chocolate Room in Brooklyn. I adored Daniel Craig as Bond—he is so fun to watch!

Who's your favorite James Bond? Are you a big fan of these films?

Happy Turkey Day!

Happy day before Thanksgiving, my darling readers! What are you doing to celebrate this holiday? I hope you are savoring good food, good company and friends. I'm Massachusetts-bound, and can't wait to relax, and enjoy a bit of time at home. Here, to get your long weekend started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

A thoughtful gift.

Ta da!

Pie slices, to go.

My newest book (more Nora Ephron love).

Broccoli soup—how yummy!

The most adorable advent calendar.

Sick day essentials. (It is cold season, after all.)

A pretty red dress (and a red coat!).

Someone else getting into the holiday spirit. (My thoughts here.)

Farmers Market Fix

Two weeks ago, I was the lucky recipient of the most delicious gift: a meal — delivered to my office door — by Farmers Market Fix. Founded by Cathy, this delightful service aims to bring fresh and local food to all New Yorkers looking to get (wait for it) their farmers market fix. Sign up for the weekly newsletter, choose from one of Cathy's mouth-watering recipes, and enjoy the fun when all the ingredients (and spices!) get delivered to your office door the day you plan to cook. Matt and I tried the Grass-fed Steak with Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Smashed Potatoes. We were so pleased with our choice! And to walk in the door after a long day with all the ingredients in hand was a treat. And such a fun date night, too!

Fall in New York

I can't help posting a couple of snaps from the weekend in Central Park. Fall is almost over, but there are still a few lone trees that are standing strong and holding onto their leaves. The range of colors is absolutely breathtaking, especially when the sun hits the branches just right. It's hard to believe that soon enough all these leaves will be gone, replaced by snow!

Did you do any end of season leaf peeping this weekend? If yes, where did you go?

More fall here and here and here.

Press for champagne

My darling readers, it's been one of those weeks! Wouldn't it be great if a button like this actually existed? Where would you put it—your office? Your home? It would be such a nice thing to walk in the door to at the end of a long day, right?!

Happy Thursday (soon to be Friday)!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

How early do you start to get in the holiday spirit? With Thanksgiving a little over a week away, my sister informed me over the phone that she was already starting to listen to Christmas music on her iPod. And I have to acknowledge the fact that during my travels home to Boston this past weekend, I may (or may not) have packed my copy of Home for the Holidaysone of my favorite movies—in my bag. I didn't watch it! But it was there. :)

I blame the snow last week in New York. But really—what is it about this season that makes it so tough to resist? Do you feel the same way? Or am I alone in this premature holiday bliss?

Alice Smith is back

Ever since I first saw Alice Smith join Citizen Cope on stage during a concert at Brooklyn Bowl three years ago, I can't get enough of her music. Her voice is soulful, bright, powerful, unique. I had the privilege of seeing a solo performance of hers first at Joe's Pub and then again at the Blue Note, and I'm thrilled that—after a brief hiatus—she is finally back on tour. If you haven't heard her music, download Cabaret, her latest single, here. And New Yorkers, grab your tickets now to see her at Joe's Pub later this month. I know from personal experience—they'll sell out fast!

The weekend is here!

Happy weekend, my darling readers! What do you have planned? I'm excited to say that I'm Boston-bound to co-host a baby shower for my best friend, who's also a super stylish mama-to-be. :) A few details about the party: We used Tiny Prints to create the shower invite, and this delicious cupcake recipe from One Girl Cookies for a sweet treat. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead. Here, a few happy posts from around the web, to get it started right:

A gratitude calendar.

Little Lincecum.

Holiday card to consider.

Say 'I do' to this dress.

Vintage NYC.

Say 'hello' in French.

Etta heels. (Inspired by Etta.)

Halloween rewind.

Taxi line.

Weekend lunch date

New Yorkers, save the date: There are only two weekends left this season to check out Smorgasburg, the outdoor flea market in Brooklyn that's dedicated entirely to food. Matt and I ventured over this past Sunday, and what a treat! I've been to the Williamsburg location (open on Saturdays), but this was my first time to the DUMBO waterfront. The views of the Brooklyn Bridge combined with amazing food and a sunny day? There's no better way to wrap up a weekend. :)

In case you are wondering, the pizza above is from Pizzamoto (made in a mobile woodfired over!); the salad is from Brooklyn Grange.

A whimsical sweater

A peek at my latest shopping splurge: The Frenchie Sweater from J.Crew. I keep seeing these adorable animal sweaters all over New York—it's a look that is cute enough to dress up, but cozy enough to dress down, don't you think? I especially love how Eileen over at Miss Whoever You Are wears it. The pop of yellow makes it such a fun look for fall!

Would you wear an animal sweater? More choices here and here.

Pretty paper

I've blogged about wallpaper before, but I recently discovered this gorgeous Manhattan print over at Bodie and Fou, and I had to bring it up again. The design is so interesting—on the website, I couldn't help but zoom in to see and every city scene up close.

I also love this Paris paper, too. And this super cute penguin design.

What do you think? Would you hang wallpaper like this?

The weekend is here!

Happy Friday, dear readers! My biggest hope following this week? That everyone in the tri-state area made it safely through the storm. As the clean-up in Manhattan continues, I'm still amazed by the power of Sandy, and the destruction she left behind. On that note, I want to wish everyone a relaxing and restful weekend ahead. According to the forecast, at long last, the sun is supposed to shine. :) Here, to get your weekend started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

A sweet ditty.

Chalkboard house DIY.

A chocolate chip cookie party.

Such a lovely way to send your love.

Favorite sweaters.

The ballerina bun!

Pretty foliage.

A rustic (and beachy) wedding.

Manhattan without light.

Something sweet.

November Page: A toast!

Happy November, my darling readers! What do you love most about this particular month? I love how the chill in the air makes being inside feel all the more cozy; how the city begins to unveil it's holiday decorations and deck the streets with glittering, white lights; and how there's that many more festive opportunities to gather together with family and friends. Other things that are great about November? Warm apple pie, hot tea, and a new winter coat. :)

Now, you go: Your favorite part about November. I'd love to know!
