Happy Halloween!

I thought I'd share a quick peek at my Halloween costume from Saturday night. Did you dress up this weekend or do you have plans to dress up tonight? Wishing everyone a spook-tacular Halloween! :)

The weekend is here!

Happy Friday! What do you have planned for the next couple of days off? Matt and I are going to visit the World Trade Center Memorial down at Ground Zero. I'm not really sure what to expect. It will definitely be an emotional experience to walk around that site. Other than that, I'm looking forward to some rest and relaxation — and maybe a glimpse of some trick-or-treaters here and there. Wishing each of you a lovely weekend ahead! Here, to get it started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

Love this guy's mustache.

Aw, fall.

The road less traveled.

Because everyone loves a classic.

Ryan, multiplied!

A wedding with a may pole.

Night at the museum.

Don't mess with me!

Halloween costume ideas

Since Halloween is mere days away, I'd love to know — what are you dressing up as this year? My costume is still undecided, which means it will be a game time decision on Saturday night. Some ideas that I have: reprising a Marilyn Monroe costume I wore a few years back, or mixing it up and going as a Pink Lady from Grease. Whatever I decide, I'm definitely inspired by the incredible costumes above. Mary Poppins? A shark attack in progress? Where the Wild Things Are? So creative!

Paris: Je t'aime

I love the Woody Allen style that Elephantine brings to the video she shot capturing her honeymoon in Paris. Such a gorgeous take on the City of Light!

P.S. The music is by Les Chauds Lapins

Rooms with a view

Talk about breathing space — one look at the homes above, and my life instantly feels more peaceful. Can you imagine if these views were your own every day? On that note, here's a silly glimpse of what the view from my New York apartment is like. :)

Do you have a room with a view? What do you look out at?

Meet Mona

Now that it gets dark out so much earlier in the day, I can't stop thinking about unique ways to add pops of color to my wardrobe to brighten things up. Case in point: the Mona pump. I love the variety of shades it comes in, especially the pink suede. How would you assess your fall/winter wardrobe? Is it filled with neutrals or lots of color?

The weekend is here!

Happy Friday my dear readers! How was your week? Mine went by slowly, mostly because I was counting the minutes until my best friend Shannon arrived in town. This weekend, we're celebrating a huge occasion for her — the big 3-0! Friends-lover that she is, I thought the photos above were the perfect way to kick off her birthday celebration tonight. Tell me — what did you do to toast a birthday milestone like this? Would love to hear your stories! Here, to get your weekend started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

We are so good together.

Puppy love

I can't stop thinking about Joanna's puppy post from last week! Especially the energy of the dog in the photo at the top. It makes me wish I had a puppy of my own to play with year-round. I'm partial to golden retrievers myself after growing up with Leroy, our family dog and one of the coolest pups on the block. What about you — are you a dog lover? Is your puppy as cute as the dogs in the pics above?

Baby loves the iPad

You have to admit — the video above kind of makes sense, right? I definitely know plenty of kids who are more skilled at navigating the iPhone and iPad than most!

On that note, I'm happy to report that my very first iPhone arrives this week. After a six year relationship with my Blackberry, we have decided that it's time to go our separate ways. :)

Cider Week

On Sunday, Shalah, Christian, Matt and I checked out A Hard Cider Revival, the kick-off event to Cider Week in New York. I don't know about you, but when these crisp, October days arrive, I'm instantly reminded of why I love fall in New York. We sipped, we sampled, we savored the taste of different ciders from places located up and down the east coast. My favorite was the Sweet Stayman from Foggy Ridge in Virginia. So light and refreshing!

What do you love most about fall? Is there a fall tradition that you make sure never to miss?

Clothes call

How organized is your closet? It's finally time to switch mine over from summer to fall, but this season, it's about more than that. I need a new system for uncovering the outfits I want to wear. The wardrobe above is my inspiration — a minimalist approach in a New York-sized apartment seems the smartest way to go. Any advice before I take this project on over the weekend? Tell me — what do you do to continuously keep your closet in tip top shape?

The weekend is here!

My darling readers, I'm so thrilled that the weekend has arrived! What do you have planned for the next couple of days? One of my good friends from Boston just re-located to New York so we are going out this weekend to celebrate her change of address. Tonight also marks my friend Lisa's birthday and she is toasting the occasion by hosting a swanky rooftop bash. Lots to look forward to over the next couple of days! :) Also, a quick update — I'm taking a week off from my blog. I have a few exciting projects in the works and, as a result, need some extra time off to get everything done. But rest assured, you can expect lots of fun updates when I return October 17. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend! Here, to get it started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

Brunch Page: Little Giant

This past weekend, our brunch spot was Little Giant on the Lower East Side. This place definitely rates in the top five that I have tried. Deciding what to order was a challenge — everything on the menu looked so good! The weather was chilly so I opted for a brunch classic: the egg and cheese sandwich with a side of potato leek hash browns. I was so happy with my choice! If you're in the mood for something sweet, you can't go wrong with the Baked French Toast — it even came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yes, this place will definitely be a brunch repeat on my list.

A taste of fall

For my birthday this year, I went canoeing with my family and Matt on the Nashua River in Massachusetts. It was such a lovely day, and a reminder of what fall weather should be like — cool and crisp with lots of sun. Now that it's October, I hope the weather starts to turn around. Enough with the rain! I want to get in some much-needed time outdoors before the cold weather arrives and the snow begins to fall. But until then, I'll look back at these end-of-summer pics — such a fun and peaceful way to celebrate another year!

A bike ride in Paris

I love everything about this Parisian bike ride captured by Jordan over at Oh Happy Day. The scenery, her dress, the beautiful flowers she carries with her on her ride — exploring Paris (or any city) by bike seems like an amazing idea. Do you own a bike? What is the best place you have discovered while on it? :)

Arrested Developments

If you missed the Arrested Development reunion this weekend at The New Yorker Festival, you may have also missed the incredible announcement that not only is the movie a definite, a new set of TV episodes are also in the works! As someone who only recently became addicted to the show, I'm thrilled to hear that there is more to come. Are you a fan of Arrested Development? Who is your favorite character on the show?
