The weekend is here!

Happy weekend dear readers! This week flew by. What do you have planned for your Saturday-Sunday off? My big plan is to finally see this film. It looks so sweet, right? Out of all the movies you've seen this summer, what has been your favorite? I would love recommendations to add to my list. Here, to get your weekend started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

Princess Diana's wedding dress

For those of you that live state-side and can't cross the pond to see Kate Middleton's Alexander McQueen wedding dress on display, there's another way to get your Royal Wedding fix. Starting in September and running through mid-January, Foxwoods will host the traveling exhibition, "Diana: A Celebration." The pièce de résistance on display? Diana's stunning gown — designed by Elizabeth Emanuel — from the day she wed Charles in 1981. As a long-time fan of the Royals, a trip to see this exhibit is definitely on my to-do list for fall. How about you? Will you be traveling to see Diana (or Kate's!) dress?

The Cafe Capri

Don't you just love the Cafe Capri pants above from J.Crew? I've been on the hunt for a stylish pair of colorful pants, and these look to be the perfect fit. The bright dahlia shade is my favorite. Even better, these pants are made from a wool blend, which means they can easily transition into fall. What do you think? Would you dare to wear these colorful pants? :)

Crazy Stupid Love

I'm counting the days until the Friday release of the movie above: Crazy, Stupid, Love starring Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. The cast itself is fantastic, but the story looks equally good. Also, I loved seeing Liza Lapira in the previews — I interviewed her several years back when she was in 21 and think she is so talented! What do you think — will you watch this film?

Cool pedestrian bridges

How incredible are the pedestrian bridges above? Definitely not ideal for anyone with a fear of heights! The one at the top is located in Singapore — it's called the Henderson Waves Bridge — while the Capilano Suspension Bridge, just beneath, can be found in Vancouver. To me, both look like perfect places to go and clear your mind. Check out more bridges here and let me know which one you love most.

The weekend is here!

My darling readers, it's been a busy week! Definitely a heat wave in New York City — or maybe it's just the fact that it's late July. Did you have a good week? What's on tap for the weekend? I'm trying out a Latin American restaurant for the first time in Park Slope called Palo Santo. Have you been? Here, to get your weekend started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

Swimming with the sharks.

A website you should all sign up for.

Rewind to age Seventeen.

Pretty flowers

Catch me if you can.

Dylan Lauren's wedding dress

Kudos to designer Ralph Lauren for a job well done. The dress he designed for his only daughter Dylan to wear at her wedding is stunning and unique. Revealed in the latest issue of Vogue, Ralph apparently consulted Vera Wang for help with the design. How sweet! What is your opinion of her wedding dress? Do you approve?

A New York playlist

How would you react if someone stopped you on the street to find out the tune currently blasting on your iPod? Better yet, would you be honest with your response? The New Yorkers featured above were. Combined, their music picks make for quite an interesting playlist! To find out more about what other people are listening to, check out Narrylikes' playlists here. You can even get a glimpse of what's been in the summer rotation on my own iPod!

Cake pops

I'm curious — have you ever tried a cake pop? I had my very first this week and was so impressed! These delightful creations pack all the best parts of eating cake into a tiny, bite size treat. New York Cake Pops even offers a full menu of flavors to choose from including vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet. What a clever idea for a baby shower or wedding favor! Or maybe they're just a good thing to have on hand the next time you need a last minute sugar fix. :)

Maine getaway

My dear readers, I'm back! Took a few days off for a long weekend in Maine — an amazingly refreshing getaway before I start my new job this week. I haven't been to Popham Beach in five years, something I find hard to believe considering I used to spend the majority of my summer weekends there as a kid. I got in lots of beach time and time with my family including my sister Alyssa who was visiting from the West Coast! Above are a few shots from the trip. Hope you enjoy!

More about Maine here and here.

You go girl!

The expression above may be a personal favorite of mine, but I also love the look of the letterpress stationery it appears on from Seattle-based designer Danielle Bellert. Such originality and color, don't you think? There's lots more to choose from at BDR Studio, Danielle's online Etsy shop. Do you have an expression you'd love to see on a card?

The weekend is here!

Happy Friday my dear readers! What do you have planned? I'm looking forward to a bit of relaxation and fun. There are so many things on my summer to-do list, I don't know where to start. This weekend, I'm hoping to check out a performance by Jeannine Hebb at Caffe Vivaldi in Greenwich Village. If you haven't heard her music, you should definitely pay a visit to her site. She's fantastic! Wishing everyone a lovely weekend ahead. Here, to get it started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

Graphite nail polish

This fall, will you rock dark and silvery polish on your nails? Get a jump start on testing out this trend by picking up Chanel's Le Vernis Nail Colour in Graphite, available this month. I love the consistency of this shade — it goes on smooth and appears on your nails exactly how it looks in the bottle. Plus, the sparkles! What a great way to add style and flair to your look.

Holy guacamole!

To me, there's nothing more summery than freshly made guacamole. How delicious do the avocados above look? Yum! Do you have a favorite recipe for making your own guac? What secret ingredients do you use to punch up the flavor? Check out a couple of the recipes I'd like to try here and here. Also for you, some tips from the king of Mexican cuisine himself, Rick Bayless. Enjoy!

The weekend is here!

Happy weekend dear readers! I must admit — the 4th of July is hands down my favorite holiday. There's nothing I love more than a gorgeous fireworks display. It's so magical and summery and beautiful, especially when timed to patriotic music like the 1812 Overture! What do you have planned for the weekend? I'm celebrating my friend Anthony's wedding in Massachusetts, and visiting my family too. I hope you all have a lovely holiday weekend. Here, to get it started right, a few happy posts from around the web:
