Wow, this guy — Mac Lethal — can turn a rhyme. :) Also, is it just me or does Mitchell look like a young Tim Lincecum from the San Francisco Giants?

The weekend is here!
Happy weekend dear readers! What do you have planned? My weekend is centered around one thing: brunch. With all my travels over the past two weeks, brunch is the Saturday-Sunday activity that I've missed the most. Who knew it could be so difficult to find eggs, French toast or pancakes past 10 a.m.? Lesson learned: this only-in-New York tradition is one I will never take for granted again. Anyways, have a wonderful weekend — here are a few happy posts from around the web:
A Hawaiian New Year's.
The play I saw last night!
A Chanel press kit, circa 1932.
Spring fever — and the perfect yellow bag!
What's your sign?
You should always take advantage of a SmileBooth.
You'll never do a whole lot unless you're brave enough to try.
I love this mustard yellow coat.
Superbowl treats - plan your menu now!
Remember, orange is the new pink.
Because boys need rules!
Great news!

Irene Neuwirth's got the blues
What do you think — would you wrap yourself in this blue stunner from Irene Neuwirth? I love the vibrant color of this design, not to mention the versatility that comes with the length of the strand. It's the type of necklace that can be worn with anything: throw it on with a wrap dress or wear it with jeans and a dressy top. It's the best way to brighten up any look!

Spring fling with Steven Alan
I know we're deep in the heart of winter, but I've already fallen in love with this dress from Steven Alan's spring collection. It's flirty and feminine, and paired with nude espadrilles like the ones above, it's the perfect outfit for a warm weather night on the town. What do you think? Would you wear this dress?

Running shoes
Since my new personal goal is to get my run on, I have been looking for a stylish pair of shoes to help support my efforts (and feet!). How cute are the shoes above? Designed by Asics, they are meant for the runner, and are quite fashionable too. I love the hot pink and turquoise color choices. What do you think — would you wear these shoes?

An EPIC weekend in Miami
What a treat to escape to Miami last week! As I mentioned, the trip was in honor of my 'friend'-iversary with my best friend. It was our first celebration of the occasion, even though we've known each other for over six years. It felt so special to start a tradition like this — in a warm place no less! So as the temperatures dip way below freezing in New York, I thought I'd share a few snaps of the place we stayed. Between the Exhale spa on site and the close proximity to South Beach, the EPIC Hotel offered the perfect winter reprieve. Don't you wish you were there right now?

The weekend is here!
Such pretty snow scenes from the city that never sleeps! I love how even the pace of New York City slows down with the weather. On that note, I'm off to Miami for a four day weekend to toast my 'friend'-iversary with my BFF. It's a Glamour magazine-inspired idea: last April, in their friendship issue, they suggested setting aside time to celebrate your friendships, just like you would with any important relationship in your life. Thanks Glamour for the fantastic idea! I'll be back next week, but to help you get an early start to your weekend, a few happy posts from around the web:
What a difference good architecture can make!
How cool are these skeleton key wedding invites?
Scenes from a French birthday party.
I'm a Virgo — what star sign are you?
It's a Girl Thing.
In life, it's always important to play your cards right.
A mountain view.
I want a pair of yellow shorts.
The perfect toast.
Down on the Corner, a cappella-style!

A spring tote
When will the snow stop? As we dig ourselves out from yet another snowy/rainy/wintery mix, it's nice to daydream about warmer weather and this nautical-inspired Malaga Tote from Calypso St. Barth. I love the fringed detail, and the midnight blue color — it's the perfect transition piece for spring!

Pretty in pink
Awards season is here! And there's no awards show I love more than the Golden Globes. Film and TV people mixing together, the musical comedy category, alcohol being served — it's all so fun to watch! This year, I was thrilled to see The Social Network, The King's Speech and The Kids Are All Right do so well. And the fashion? Tres jolie! In my book, the ladies in pink stole the show. What do you think? Who won best dressed?

The weekend is here!
My dear readers, happy three-day weekend! What do you have planned for the next few days off? Matt and I decided to go on a last minute adventure to Philadelphia. Would you believe that I have never been? We're thinking about checking out the zoo and then just seeing where the city takes us! I'll be back with blog posts on Tuesday — until then, I wish you all a lovely weekend. And to get it started right, here are a few happy posts from around the web:
Now booking at the Shangri-La Paris!
A variety of ways to display your books.
What a great houndstooth beach bag!
Cute suit.
How cool are these terrariums?
Get organized for the new year!
If you could, would you plan a New Year's Day wedding?
How cool to be a flower farmer.
The book I'm planning to read next!
Woody Allen on your wall.
I resolve to keep lipstick, quarters and band-aids on hand.
Because Hugh Grant always makes me smile at the end of a long week.

On the Market: Ferris Bueller's home
What do you think — would you buy Ferris Bueller's home? If so, now's your lucky day: the infamous Highland Park home on the North side of Chicago is officially on the market, with the glass-enclosed garage completely in tact. Remember the scene in the film where Cameron (played by Alan Ruck) has a nervous breakdown after discovering the increase in mileage on his dad's Ferrari after Ferris' day off from school? Now, think about parking your own car in that same iconic spot. So cool!

The evolution of GQ
There's nothing better than watching the evolution of a brand. The lil bee takes a look back at GQ to show just how much the magazine's covers have changed over time. Don't you just love the taxi t-shirts on the men celebrating "that New York dazzle"? I totally want my own to wear out and about!

A room with a pool
Okay, I've found it — the dining room of my dreams. Wouldn't you love to pull up a seat at this table in designer Lisa Perry's home? From the roaring fireplace to the egg-inspired wall art to the serenity of the pool, I promise, if I lived here, I would never leave this room!

DIY hair color with Kelly Van Gogh
Don't miss my latest beauty feature in the January issue of New York Resident, on newsstands now. In it, I interview Kelly Van Gogh about her latest line of at-home hair color products, called Master Blend. Also, read about Payal Luthra's beautiful scarves and the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask from Origins, the perfect cure for dehydrated skin!
A Jurassic-inspired necklace
What a clever idea! I love the prehistoric charm of this Distinct Instinction Necklace from Monserat De Lucca. Inspired by T. Rex himself, this witty design would pair perfectly with a dress or tee. It also reminds everyone around you of a very important fact: even today, the dinosaurs? Oh so cool.

The weekend is here!
Happy weekend dear readers! What's in store for you this Saturday and Sunday? I'm looking forward to lots of post-holiday R&R. The only thing on my agenda? Watching Aliens with Matt. Have you seen it? I'm not sure a scary movie makes for the most relaxing of weekend plans, but I promised him I would watch it and so...I shall. :) Here, to get your weekend started right, a few fun posts from around the web:
I know the holidays are over, but how cool is this bike?
Embrace messy hair!
String your gardens from above.
A New Year's Hello.
Try this claw-set ring.
Rainy Day Love.
Are you in the mood for spring?
I want a pair of red pants.
And this bright red 2011 calendar too!
Blossom tempura and ice cream bon bons.
A small town wedding that lights up the sky!
I wish this was...
12 grapes at midnight? Happy New Year!

A Parisian hotel with a literary theme
After mentioning the possibility that I will be venturing to Paris come spring, I can't help daydreaming about the variety of places I would love to stay. Par exemple, the Pavillon Des Lettres Hotel. Each room in this recently renovated hotel is named after a different writer, with quotations from their work stenciled on the walls. Even cooler, the power of print isn't the only thing determining the decor: every room comes fully equipped with an iPad. A nice touch for the modern day traveling writer, don't you think?

Closet re-design
Talk about closet envy! I love the crisp lines and clutter-free arrangement of this design. Channeling my 'new year, new you' attitude, I've decided it's time for me to start (and finish) my own closet overhaul. Because how zen-like would it be to begin each morning gazing into a closet like the one above? Oh, organization. A girl can dream!

Muah! to neon pink lips
Neon pink lips: what do you think? Love it or hate it? Ever since DVF introduced this 2011 beauty trend on the runway, I just can't get enough. I've tried red lips before, but to me there's something softer about pink. Something more feminine. Interested in testing the trend yourself? Try Show Orchid from MAC. To me, it's bright, bold and beautiful, all rolled into one. Not a bad combo for the modern 2011 lady, am I right?

A toast to 2011!
Happy 2011 my dear readers! What did you do to ring in the new year? The holidays always go by in a blur, but I wanted to let you know that I'm back to posting daily, Monday through Friday, for you to enjoy! Above are a few shots from my New Year's Eve toast with friends. We said goodbye to 2010 in style with plenty of champagne and delicious cocktails at Eastern Standard in Boston. Wishing you lots of love, good times and happiness in the year ahead — and of course, lots of time spent reading my blog!
