So, I'm a lady who loves a good photo booth. That's why I'm sort of intrigued by Phhhoto, a new app that instantly turns your photo booth pics into gifs. What's cool is you don't have to be at a wedding to try it out—just download the Phhhoto app to your iPhone and start snapping away. The app takes a sequence of pics fast, then turns them into a moving image.
Where I think it could be helpful: In the fitting room. My sister, friends and I are always snapping quick pics of outfits we're trying on, then texting (or Snapchatting) them for a speedy yay or nay. Wouldn't they get a better read on the clothes if you could send an easy-to-produce gif? Just a thought. :)

Photography how-to
Now that my trip to France and Italy is coming up soon, I've been starting to make mini-lists to prepare. Top priority right now: Master my SLR camera so that I can come back with lots of gorgeous pics. It's harder than you think!
Luckily, there's Skillshare, a company with classes that teach almost any skill you could ever imagine wanting to learn. I signed up for a photography course, and I love it! It's really simple, too: It's all online, with videos that teach you each step. Then, there are projects at the end of every lesson so you can practice what you just learned and share it with your virtual classmates. Really cool, right?
So, I'm brushing up on my photo skills and getting ready for my trip. Do you have any photo tips or advice?
PS—My first attempt with the SLR.

Starry starry night
Can you imagine what New York City would look like underneath a sky full of stars? French photographer Thierry Cohen attempts to show exactly that by editing city scenes together with night skies that fall on the same latitudes. It's magical, right? As a former country girl, I wouldn't mind having the best of both worlds—the city skyline accompanied by billions of stars to look up at each night. Cohen's work is on display at the Danziger Gallery in NYC in March, but come spring, there's another option if you want to see the real deal: Star gazing on the High Line!

SNL photo recap
I love the quirky humor behind these photos, each taken from the portfolio of longtime SNL photographer, Mary Ellen Matthews. Brian Williams will always be my favorite, but the creativity (and fun!) behind every single pose makes it clear why Matthews has been shooting portraits for the hit show for so many years. Browse through the rest of her portfolio here.

Photo wall
Who needs to paint when you can decorate your walls with an enlarged photograph that fits the size of your room? I love the soft, black and white image above, and how it almost blends into the background of this cozy-looking home. That said, I do think it would be tough to choose just one image that would work, especially given the permanence of it's display.
What do you think — would you try this design idea at home?

Family photo shoot
I'm in love with the family photo shoot above from Bleubird Vintage. The entire clan decided to celebrate the arrival of Frances, the pug, with lots of silly pics and poses. How cute! It definitely looks like this is one dog that better be ready for lots of love and hugs. :)

Change the weather/still together...
Don't you just love the wedding photos above? Apparently, it rained for the first half of Jess and TJ's Colorado ceremony, but the sun popped out just in time for this adorable pair to say 'I do!'. A rainbow on your wedding day? That seems like the start of 'happily ever after' to me!

Two of a kind
I'm in love with every single one of the gorgeous photos found on The Glow, a site that offers a glimpse into the worlds of inspiring and fashionable moms. The prints above feature moms including — from top to bottom — Jeanann Williams, Lauren Moffatt, Ramya Giangola, and Meredith Kahn. Each shot is so playful and sweet! Do you have a favorite childhood moment that you shared with your mom? Were you lucky enough to catch it on film? :)

That one's a keeper!
Tell me — are you someone that regularly gets your digital photos printed? If you're like me, this is one item that is always on my to-do list. I have thousands and thousands of photos, not only in iPhoto, but on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Shutterfly...the list goes on and on! As a result, I'm very intrigued by sites like PostalPix and Pictarine. PostalPix (displayed above) is an app that allows you to order digital prints straight from your iPhone. Snap a photo, and make a quick decision to order a hard copy of the image to be sent via snail mail to your home. With Pictarine, you can organize your digital photos from across the web so that they all live in the same place. I can feel my to-do list getting shorter by the minute!

All smiles
Even during a busy week, it's good to remember not to take life too seriously. My mom shared this photo with me on Monday — it's a shot of me working hard at my chalkboard as a kid. Clearly, I had plenty of time to take a break and ham it up for the camera! :) Wishing everyone a happy Thursday. Remember, the long weekend is just one more day away!

Say 'I do' in Palm Springs
Two points for directness. I love the way that Lilia and Ryan, the gorgeous couple above, dubbed their wedding exactly what it is: the best day ever! From the invites to the bride's bright pink lipstick, this Palm Springs celebration looks like it was a ton of fun. The photos — taken by Sean Flanigan — really capture the spirit of the day, right down to the last dip on the dance floor. Are you planning your own wedding? Where are you getting hitched?

Gone swimming
I'm back! My dear readers that live in New York, did you survive the heat wave last week? It looks like the humidity is arriving in the city a bit early this year. As a result, I can't stop thinking about the beach! But if I can't go swimming, the photos above are the next best thing. I love photographer Julie Chamton's colorful ocean shots from Egypt (images 1 and 3), not to mention Marc Loyon's photo of San Sebastian in Spain. Talk about serenity now. What's your favorite beach in the world?

Breathing space
One glimpse at this photo and I'm willing to bet we're thinking the same thing: that's one heck of a view! I'm not sure where it was taken, but the lush and rolling hills in combination with the cloud cover make me wish I was there. This week is a busy one for me, so I thought this photo would be the perfect way to ease into it. Unfortunately, as a result of my schedule, I have to take a brief break from my blog. Don't worry — it's a short one! I'll be back on Monday next week. In the meantime, here's to an interesting week ahead, filled with lots of surprises, and fun!

Wouldn't it be great if we could all just take a beach day? What a gorgeous shot. Happy Wednesday!

Andrew Garfield for Band of Outsiders
These images remind me of two things: 1) I need to get a polaroid camera. 2) I just love Andrew Garfield. How cute does he look in this ad campaign for Band of Outsiders? So fun to see his playful side! Did you see him in The Social Network and Never Let Me Go? What a talented guy. Next up, he's set to star as Peter Parker in the new Spider-Man flick. Just one more reason to look forward to the summer!
