The great outdoors
Two weeks ago, I had the chance to escape to Maine for my cousin's wedding—right at the peak of foliage season. I wanted to post a few scenic snaps from the weekend. It was absolutely breathtaking! There's something so therapeutic about time in nature. It's something that I always miss living in New York.
More pics from the wedding weekend can be found here.
Did you do any leaf-peeping this fall?

October Page: A toast!
Happy birthday, October! Fall is zipping by, don't you think? The season has arrived for jackets—I've been wearing mine almost daily now. But I do love this time of year. I'm kicking off the month with a wedding in Maine. I can't wait to see the colorful foliage up there. :)
What do you love most about October? I love breaking out warm and toasty blankets for the couch, indulging more in comfort food, and—of course—Halloween!
Wishing you a very happy start to the month!

A Wes Anderson-inspired wedding
As far as wedding themes go, this one takes the cake: Jaime and Melinda—both huge fans of Wes Anderson—turned their California wedding into an homage to the talented director's best work. I love it! From the colorful cake to the party favors and photo booth backdrop, it perfectly captures the whimsy of Wes. You can find many more photos here.

An Irish Wedding!
The wedding took place at Rosleague Manor, a stunning spot with breathtaking views of the Irish countryside. After an outdoor ceremony, we enjoyed a five-course meal, and dancing late into the night. The biggest struggle for Matt and I? Our jet lag! We took the red eye into Dublin the night before the wedding, and managed a couple of hours of sleep before the ceremony began. But it was absolutely worth it! The pics above should give you a glimpse of the day—the beautiful bride, the map filled with place settings, the blessing I got to read during the ceremony right after the couple said 'I do'.
Have you ever been to Ireland? More to come on my travels this week!

Red Light, Green Light
At last — wedding #3! This one took place in Maine over the 4th. It was my cousin Carolyn getting hitched, which made it feel more like a family reunion than a wedding. I don't think all of my cousins have been together in Maine (the place we used to vacation as kids) in over 10 years! At the bride's request, we decided to re-live our youth outside the chapel with a competitive round of Red Light, Green Light. Do you remember that game?
When we were little, our parents used to help host pot-luck suppers at the local town library. My cousins and I would go, but as soon as our food was finished, we'd get permission to play outside. We'd be out there for hours playing all kinds of games like Kick the Can, Red Rover, and, of course, Red Light Green Light.
What a hilarious moment re-creating that game. We've all aged a bit, but when it comes to a little bit of healthy competition, we all still say the same thing: bring it on!
PS—Wedding #1 and Wedding #2.

A Connecticut Wedding
Finally! A peek at the second wedding I attended this year: for my beautiful friend Barb. We sang together in the Wheatones, our college a cappella group. Isn't she a stunning bride? The wedding was right on the Connecticut shore, complete with dinner and dancing outside while tiki torches lit the way to the dock out on the water. Amazing! Oh, and just for fun, we performed a bit of a cappella from our college days — watch the video here.

The weekend is here!
Happy weekend, dear readers! How is it already the end of June? I'm off to Connecticut for wedding #2. I'm a bridesmaid in this one, which has been a lot of fun. The photo above is of my friends and I in the Meatpacking District for the bachelorette. Such a great New York City shot, don't you think? I will try to post photos from the wedding next week (sneak peek: I'm thinking of wearing this to the rehearsal dinner. What do you think?). I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend ahead. Here, to get it started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

My darling readers, I'm off! As I talked about yesterday, this weekend marks the first of seven weddings that I have this year. My friend Lucy is getting hitched in Fort Lauderdale, and I can't wait to celebrate (and soak up the sun). Any fun plans for the next couple of days off? Wishing each of you a lovely weekend ahead. Here, to get it started right, a few happy posts from around the web:

My Best Friends' Weddings
A short post about something I mentioned last week — this year, I am thrilled to be attending a total of seven weddings. It's a record high for me, but 'tis the season I guess! And truth be told, I'm looking forward to every single one. Almost all will serve as mini-vacations. The destinations range from Maine to Connecticut, Ireland to New York. The first wedding takes place this weekend — in Fort Lauderdale! My beach bags (and new bathing suit) are packed.
All these upcoming celebrations got me thinking — what is your favorite wedding movie of all time? Mine include Wedding Crashers, My Best Friend's Wedding, Father of the Bride, and Bridesmaids. I'd love to hear your picks!
And don't be surprised if you start to see more wedding-related content on my blog. A girl needs input about what to wear, gifts to bring, and destination advice, too. :)

Florida daydream
What? A girl can't fantasize about a beach vacation? :) With five weddings on the books this year, I have the most amazing excuse to escape to Fort Lauderdale for a weekend of R & R at the end of March. After celebrating my friend's engagement in New York over the weekend, the countdown to her actual wedding has officially begun. I thought these photos would make everyone's day a bit brighter. Did it work?

Say 'I do' at New York's City Hall
Would you ever choose a city hall wedding over a more elaborate affair? That's exactly what the couple above did, and I have to admit, I think it's an incredibly romantic idea. It just seems so personal and sweet — an intimate moment that only the two of you share. Of course, that doesn't mean that these two didn't celebrate their marriage with friends. That very same weekend, they threw a huge Brooklyn party with everyone they knew to toast getting hitched.
Here's another famous couple who got married at New York's City Hall. I'd love to know — what are your thoughts on the idea?

Change the weather/still together...
Don't you just love the wedding photos above? Apparently, it rained for the first half of Jess and TJ's Colorado ceremony, but the sun popped out just in time for this adorable pair to say 'I do!'. A rainbow on your wedding day? That seems like the start of 'happily ever after' to me!
