I can't get over the color and detail in the paintings pictured above, both created by Australian painter Susan Buret. Each canvas is filled with so much movement and light — the perfect focal point for any room. In particular, I love the painting with the midnight blue palette. What about you? Do you like this style of art?

The weekend is here!
TGIF! Don't you love the shot of Ms. Hepburn above? It's taken from the film Love in the Afternoon. Audrey's expression epitomizes the joy and fun that comes with having a few days off. Aww, such bliss! So, my dear readers, what are your weekend plans? I'm off to Long Island to help my friend celebrate the big 3-0! It's an 80s-themed party, which means a few things: blue eye shadow, high ponytails, and spandex. Pictures to come next week! In the mean time, celebrate Friday with a few happy posts from around the web:
A turquoise scarf for fall.
Photobooth prints as art.
Shopping for a wedding dress...in Paris.
Celebrate October with a delicious bowl of tomato soup!
Perfume infused with the scent of Maine (and the trip that inspired the fragrance!)
A photographer's imagination.
Ultra-feminine dresses to adore.
A daydream I wish was my reality right now.
I spy...San Francisco!
Beautiful mamas from around the world.
I finished the book (finally!) — now, a preview of the movie I want to see next.

Ode to piano bars
Check out the video above of the Manhattan Inn, a retro piano bar in Green Point, Brooklyn. In Boston, I used to love spending time at Julien, the now-closed restaurant/piano bar at the Langham Hotel in Boston. It was my go-to spot for drinks with my friend Leslie — such fun! Call me an old soul, but there's something magical about places like Bemelmans Bar on the Upper East Side or The Duplex in the West Village. Did they inspire Glee? I'm not sure. I do know that they inspire people to find their inner diva, their voice! The question is — what song would you sing?

Merino Cool polish by Essie
Ask my friends — deciding on a nail polish color to commit to each season is one of the more difficult beauty decisions I find myself having to make. Thank goodness for Merino Cool by Essie. The neutral, yet trendy shade is the perfect fit to keep your nails...well...polished. I can't stop admiring my hands when it's on! What about you? Any favorite colors for fall?

European flair
These days, I love anything and everything to do with home decor. Even the tiniest detail has a major impact on the look and feel of a small (read: New York-sized apartment) space. For example, these black and white prints from LCYBlog's European Series on Etsy. I'm obsessed. I agree with the seller — I think they look best grouped together. What do you think?

The weekend is here!
I'm so happy it's the weekend! Besides being the start of October, my best friend and her husband are in town, which means lots of laughter and fun, with plenty of references to Friends — our favorite TV show — mixed in. How about you? What are your weekend plans? Here are a few happy posts from around the web to get your Saturday-Sunday started right:
A recipe for mulled spiced cider.
J.Crew Weddings takes over Madison Avenue.
Meet the cow who thought he was a dog.
A backyard Tennessee Wedding (with yet another pair of striking blue heels!).
A leaning tree makes the perfect spot for a photo op.
Catch a glimpse of Chanel's Paris-Shanghai Collection.
It's time for love.
Farewell fashion week — a few parting shots.
Stop everything you're doing and go see this film.
The Oprah reunion you won't want to miss!
