New (and possibly red) kicks

I'm overdue for a new pair of sneakers—for walking, not running—and I've been eyeing a red pair for fall. Normally, my walking shoes are neutrals, like gray or black, but there's something about red shoes...
I love how they look polished and sporty at the same time. I'd wear them with jeans, or even better...
...I love how they look so sleek and sophisticated when you pair them with a skirt or dress.
So, tell me what you think, and more importantly, what color are your kicks? I'm leaning toward a pair of Chuck Taylors like these. Opinions, please!

Endless summer

Lately, my weekend look has been limited to the following: white jeans, a lightweight tee (like this l'été sans fin shirt from J.Crew), my white Birkenstocks, and a dab of this Stila Convertible Color lipstick in Sweet Pea. It's so easy and mindless—and a great way to keep cool as the July temperatures start to hit 90...and up.

Do you have a signature summer look? Or a key piece that helps you beat the heat?

Summer trend: Birkenstocks

When I heard that Birkenstocks were making a comeback, I wasn't so sure how I felt. I remember how much I loved the dark leather pair I wore daily in high school. My friends and I made an effort to keep them on our feet year-round, even wearing them with socks (!) in the winter (much to the dismay of our teachers). But when I saw the crisp and clean white pair above, I had a change of heart. Kate over at View from the Topp makes Birkenstocks look stylish, chic, and like the optimal footwear for spring and summer.

What do you think? Is this a trend you're ready to bring back?

Pretty heels for spring

Now that it's February, I'm having a hard time *not* pining away for spring. It's at this point every year that winter starts to drag...and drag. That's why I'm so happy to see bits and pieces of spring collections starting to arrive in stores. Case in point: this gorgeous stiletto heel (called the Nora in Spot Dot) from Madewell. It's so retro! And I love the delicate ankle strap. Can't you just picture wearing this with a light and airy spring dress on a warm and sunny day? I can. :)

Are you starting to shop for spring?

Summer sandal series

A pedicure is one of my favorite summer indulgences—and gorgeous strappy sandals make it all the more fun to put perfectly polished toes on display. That's why I love this Instagram feed by the ladies over at Glitter Guide. Among other summer-inspired shots, they always capture summer feet that are ready for all things: the beach, the pool, or just lounging around.

Inspired to do the same, I snapped the pic above of my own feet, pounding the sizzling pavement in New York. It's not as glamorous a locale as a hot and beachy spot, but it will have to do for now!

Snap a photo of your own summer feet, and share a link to the pic in the comments below.

In her (summer) shoes

Come summer, I dedicate a special slush fund to biweekly manicures and pedicures. After all, fashion this time of year is all about how you choose to decorate your hands and feet! Case in point: the snaps taken from Instagram above. Not only do I want her shoes, I want a list of the nail polish shades she perfectly pairs with each look.

Do you have a staple summer shoe? What about a signature polish?

Remember Kate Middleton's summer shoe?

Kitten heels

Yes, I'm aware — winter weather has arrived (at least in New York!). And while the kitten heels pictured above from British designer Charlotte Olympia aren't the most snow-friendly, they sure are cute. Such a clever and playful take on a timeless shoe style! What do you think? Would you dare to wear these heels?

Boat shoes

How cute are these Perry Top-Sider boat shoes from J.Crew? I had a pair almost identical to this in high school. The only difference? The bright pink hue! Instead, the shoes I used to sport were your basic shade of tan, which is exactly why I'm thinking about splurging on a more colorful pair like the ones pictured above.

What do you think? Would you opt for neon azalea shoes?

Meet Mona

Now that it gets dark out so much earlier in the day, I can't stop thinking about unique ways to add pops of color to my wardrobe to brighten things up. Case in point: the Mona pump. I love the variety of shades it comes in, especially the pink suede. How would you assess your fall/winter wardrobe? Is it filled with neutrals or lots of color?

Running shoes

Since my new personal goal is to get my run on, I have been looking for a stylish pair of shoes to help support my efforts (and feet!). How cute are the shoes above? Designed by Asics, they are meant for the runner, and are quite fashionable too. I love the hot pink and turquoise color choices. What do you think — would you wear these shoes?

Shoes with bows

I don't know about you, but one of the fall trends I'm loving most is shoes with bows. They're delicate and feminine, and yet still, very bold. Walk into a room and all eyes are on you — especially if they're red, like the Valentino pumps pictured above. The coolest part is that this high fashion trend is one you can do yourself. Just follow step-by-step instructions from sites like Style Caster or PS I Made This. Or discover a shoe trend that suits your taste. Here, Time Out New York picks out the top 100 best fall shoes for the ladies!
