NBC's Smash

I know I already mentioned Smash, but after discovering the first episode available for free on iTunes, I had to bring it up again. Has anyone else checked out the show that's supposed to save NBC? I was a Katherine McPhee fan during her American Idol days, but after watching the series premiere, I was blown away. She is actually quite captivating in her role, as a struggling — but talented — actress trying to make it on Broadway in New York. Add to that a cast that includes Debra Messing and Megan Hilty? I can't wait for the season to start.

What do you think? Are you planning to watch Smash?

Baby-in-Waiting

Not only is The Office one of my favorite shows, it also happens to feature one of my favorite TV couples: Jim and Pam Halpert. But blame the Olympics in Vancouver (which start one month from today and run through the end of February on NBC) — fans of the show will have to wait an extra month to meet Baby Halpert, the long-overdue off-spring of Jim and Pam (played by John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer). This also means that Pam will have been pregnant for a whole 10 months! But, who’s really counting? If the episodes marking Baby Halpert’s arrival (a 2-parter, scheduled to air on March 4 and 11) are as adorable/endearing/hilarious as the one featuring the couple’s wedding in Niagara Falls (see clip above), it is worth the wait.
