Happy weekend dear readers and happy Halloween! You won't believe it, but this weekend I'm going Gaga — Lady Gaga that is. It's the Halloween costume I decided on, blond wig and all! Something about the idea struck my fancy a few weeks back. A mini-shopping spree on LadyGaga.com (yes, I am moderately ashamed) and voila! My decision was made. What are you going as for Halloween? Any fun costume ideas? To get you in the spirit, here are a few Halloween-themed posts from around the Web:
Spooky ways to get your nails did.
Costume idea: go as Karl Lagerfeld.
Rent this — or see it onstage!
Another idea: be Sue Sylvester from Glee.
Make your own candy bars!
Ew! Bandaged-finger appetizers from Oprah.
Bone martini glasses.
The Monster Mash or the Zombie Party — both starring you!

Row, row, row your boat
The best way to spend a sunny day in New York? I'll admit, the possibilities are endless, but renting a rowboat from the Central Park Boathouse just might be my new favorite thing to do. Is it touristy? Sure. But incredibly fun? Absolutely. Here are a few photos from my excursion in the Park with Matt. Come on, how else would you have access to these views? Toto, I don't think we're in New York City anymore!

'I'm Yours' on the ukulele
My sister sent this over to me as a mid-week treat. If you ask me, this little guy gives Jason Mraz a run for his money. Too cute!

DIY Halloween candy
Leave it to Oprah to provide us with the sweetest Halloween treat: the recipes for seven different types of candy, and so much sugary goodness we can't believe our eyes! The lollipops look like fun, and the Honey Caramel Corn Balls sound too good to be true. But no matter what recipe I decide to make first, I'm fairly confident I'll find plenty of tasters to sample my work!

The weekend is here!
Happy weekend dear readers! What do you have planned? There is a chance I may go pumpkin picking — the quintessential fall activity, no? Saturday also marks a very special day: my good friend Shannon's birthday. And while I can't be there in person to celebrate, I am sending birthday wishes from afar! Anyways, here are a few fun posts from around the web to get your weekend started right:
A feathered dress to try.
A real wedding with a smile booth and a POW!
Fire and water.
An iPhone launched into space!
A colorful collection of teapots.
Who loves metallic?
High heels: Spinal Tap!
Why Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci are great.
Cute dogs.
A breathtaking dinner party (and sunset)!

Straight No Chaser goes viral
Watch the video above and admit that I'm right: a cappella music is it. Just listen to the perfect harmonies of Straight No Chaser, an all-male a cappella group that got it's start at Indiana University in 1996. Fast forward a decade(+), factor in the endless possibilities of the internet, and success! This group has gone viral. Better yet, they're currently on a national tour. Tickets please!

The perks of being a puppy
No, there isn't any snow in New York just yet, but how cute is this puppy living it up in all the white, fluffy goodness that surrounds him? This little guy is too adorable for words.

The Gatsby Collection from Madewell
I can't help it. I'm a sucker for all things Madewell. Enter their new Gatsby Collection — case in point. Inspired by the roaring 20s, the mesh bow-tie jewelry designs come in both silver and gold. Pair the necklace with a floaty dress, the bracelet with a sweater and jeans, and maybe, if you're lucky, you'll attend a Gatsby-esque party and have the perfect thing to wear.

The weekend is here!
Happy weekend, my dear readers! Do you find the bowl of heirloom tomatoes above as irresistible as I do? It reminds me of the tomato tasting I did a couple months back — oh, how I miss those summer days!
What are you up to this weekend? Anything fun planned? I'm watching Game 1 of the NLCS between the SF Giants and the Phillies. As you know, I'm a Red Sox fan, but Matt's home team is the Giants so I have to represent! Here, to get your weekend started right, a few happy posts from around the web:
Vintage ladies and robots.
If a tree falls in a forest, does it make a sound?
Lions and tigers (no bears). Oh my!
An under layer collection I love.
DIY crepe paper lanterns.
The perfect compact.
My favorite purchase so far this fall (and a similar look from Forever 21).
A barn wedding with the most enticing candy bar I've ever seen!
Lip Stick from TopShop (literally).
Dashing off!

The awesome 80s
Finally! Photos from last weekend's 80s extravaganza. Above is a shot with the birthday girl and boy. If you look closely in the background, there's a box of Capri Sun — the theme beverage of choice at this particular soiree. Lots more 80s goodness to come in the photos below. Enjoy!

Behind the Scenes of Mad Men
Can we say Mad Men withdrawal? I can't believe this Sunday is the season four finale of the show. Where does the time go? In honor of this season's conclusion, I thought I'd revisit Rolling Stone's photo tribute to the show from September. Such great pics!

Double decker tacos
As you may know from previous posts, I'm not much of a cook in the kitchen. Thank goodness Matt is! This past week, we had friends over for a mini Mexican fiesta featuring one of his tastiest specialties: double decker tacos.
Inspired by the dish served at Taco Bell, Matt's version is one and the same. You take a soft tortilla, wrap it around a hard taco shell, add a layer of re-fried beans in the middle, and voila! Double decker tacos. The traditional taco fixings still apply: meat, cheese, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, salsa. Sprinkle a touch of cilantro on top and I promise you — they're delish!

Fabio Scalia discusses fall hair trends
Read my interview with Fabio Scalia in the latest issue of New York Resident magazine, available now. I met Fabio at his salon in Brooklyn Heights — what a gorgeous spot! Also in this issue, learn about Flywheel and consider trying a cycling class with a competitive edge.
